I turn a quarter-century old today, and Snoozie also turns 3 this month! I can't believe it, I was 16 just yesterday and now I've aged into my fucking mid-twenties. Sigh. My birthday wish for myself is simple: To be healthy, fitter and fearless. Imma go big and bold, bang on every door and chase my dreams like never before. I wanna achieve greater financial stability and I'm gonna see New York City this year. I shall find the god in me and I will love me so fiercely. I also vow to stay single. I hope this little update will bring some sunshine to your rainy day here in La. We are reaching the 2 month mark since my neighbor Norma has come home from the hospital and I am so happy to share that she is continuing to prove the doctors and nurses wrong by continuing to THRIVE! To prolong the remaining funds to prevent her from having to be moved into a county facility, Norma and I have decided to move her into my apartment across the hall where she now has her own beautiful room and bathroom! She loves it! I do most of my work at home so I am here most of the time to care for her so it only made sense to the both of us. She is my adopted grandmother and I am her grandson she never had. 🙂 We will still have caregivers coming in to care for her as well as her weekly hospice visits from the nurses and doctors. I just wanted to let you all know Norma loves reading your comments and I seriously think all the support and love is keeping her healthy. Now who wants to come to dinner? ?#myneighbornorma… I mean #myroomatenorma ?

Bunny (September 2003 – January 21, 2017) This morning we said goodbye to our beloved Bunny. She passed peacefully with all 5 of her people around her. She was diagnosed with inoperable cancer 3 weeks ago, but thanks to modern medicine, we were blessed with more time, and she was able to live happy and pain-free up until last night, when it had become clear that her little body and the Prednisone she was on, could not fight back the cancer any longer. She came into our lives at a special and pivotal time for our family. For me: I was 13 and the news of my sexuality had began to put a strain on our family, as we struggled to reconcile our faith and core values with my identity. Bunny was the warm, furry, tail-wagging glue that held us together. Our mutual love of her was the undeniable bond between us. BunBun, I am forever grateful to you for the 13 years of the unconditional love that poured out of you, for bringing our family closer together, and for the warmth and joy you brought into all our lives. I loved you even when you scratched on my door "early" in the "morning" until I let you in to jump on my bed and snuggle up to me. I wouldn't trade any minute of any of the times we shared for anything in the world. Thank you, sweet girl.
